KOCHI: Actor Soubin Shahir and Shawn Antony, the producers of the movie 'Manjummel Boys', have been prevented from being arrested. The High Court has ordered that they should not be arrested till the 22nd of this month. The police had earlier registered a case against Shawn Antony, Soubin Shahir and Babu Shahir as per the order of Ernakulam First Class Magistrate Court. The case is under the headings of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and forgery.

The court order came on a petition filed by Siraj Valiyathara Hameed, a native of Aroor, who had spent Rs 7 crore for the making of Manjummel Boys. According to the complainant, the events started in 2022. Parava Films approached Siraj to finance the production of the film. An agreement was signed on November 30, 2022. It was alleged in the petition that the producers, who promised 40 percent profit share, took money from Siraj and then cheated him without paying profit share or investment.

The petition also states that the producers of the film have acquired another Rs 20 crore as OTT platform rates. The court had sent a notice to the producers of the film, Soubin Shahir and Babu Shahir. A case was registered after that.
